Jazz Funk & Contemporary (Age 8+)

Jazz Funk (Age 8+)

Emerging in the 1980’s this dance form was brought about by the popularization and commercial influence of Hip Hop. Jazz Funk, also called Street Jazz, borrows a lot of movement from other dance styles. From ballet-modern-hip hop- to lyrical, jazz funk incorporates little bits and pieces of other dance genres and wraps into a funky style that is both fun and expressive!

Jazz-Funk happens to be an intense, yet enjoyable dance form. Simple, tailor-made steps make learning undemanding.

At Rhythmus Happy Feet, our achievement lies in making dance education an amusing and fulfilling experience. Our trained staff ensure the students have fun with their new routines every month and also allow the students to connect with themselves deeply. Contemporary (Age 8+)

Contemporary uses Ballet technique and footwork but is not as rigid as Ballet. It is characterized by lots of floor work. The choreography will have quick flooring and rises building a strong core. Our classes teach Contemporary routines to popular slow or medium paced music.

Class flow: warm up, Floor work, Length work as contemporary dancing requires length and right posture, flexibility and routine (Dance). We add 2 counts of 8 eight every class. So the routine builds as the month progresses.
